What data we collect
- Account data: email address, display name, and hashed password (stored by Supabase Auth).
- Learning activity: topics viewed, quiz attempts, scores, confidence ratings, flashcard results, and time spent per lesson.
- Usage data: browser type, device, and anonymous analytics (pages visited, session duration).
- Communications: messages you send via the contact form.
How we use your data
- To personalise spaced-repetition intervals and tile decay based on your quiz performance and confidence ratings.
- To display your progress on the dashboard (streak, time this week, topics completed).
- To improve the platform and content quality.
- To send transactional emails (e.g. email verification, password reset). We do not send marketing emails without consent.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with sub-processors required to operate the Service (Supabase for database/auth, Vercel for hosting, Google Gemini for AI content generation). All sub-processors are bound by appropriate data protection agreements.
Data retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone. Upon deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@bitelrn.com.
